Chinwe Dance is an exploration of rhythm, beats, melodies, sensations, and the timing of notes, chords, and accents. It blends instinct with structure, where the emotional aspect creates mystique, while the mechanical side dictates the execution of each step. The emotional depth—expressed through gestures, and steps —is what makes Chinwe Dance truly captivating.
At its core, Chinwe Dance is unscripted, drawing inspiration from genres such as Igbo highlife, egwu oja, ogene, electronic, afro-bogie, and classic afro-pop. The raw passion for movement and the connection to music are the driving forces behind the dance.
My primary goal in creating dance is to communicate through movement and rhythm, expressing ideas and emotions while releasing positive energy.
