Ijé Ụwá is an anthology film that imaginatively explores themes of identity, belonging and the natural world. The film follows the protagonist and her adventures in 3 different rooms of a house, a one woman’s journey to self worth.  A thought provoking and  exciting interdisciplinary feature set between Nigeria and the UK. Britain and Nigeria have a hugely important, multi layered and historic relationship, one that is very much alive today.

The film will be a character led story with the central theme being the female identity

Ijé Ụwá (English translated as life‘s trajectory, the journey of life. It may also be considered as the notion of “fate”, that immaterial or cosmic force which charts our journeys through life as individuals. It’s also a phrase that could mean faith, science, life, evolution or change. A phrase from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria)
